At LRW, we love our country, our families, ALL the dogs, woodworking and bourbon.  We love other things and some days the order changes a bit, but you get the picture.

 

A few years ago in Kentucky, I was watching a beautiful white oak barrel being emptied of great bourbon.  I asked a few staff members where the barrels go after being emptied and to be honest it made me a little sad.  You have these majestic trees growing for decades then being harvested and shaped into staves to make barrels filled with clear distillate and then stored in rickhouses. 

 

For years those staves share everything they have - to give us those amazing caramel, vanilla and baking spice flavors that we chase all around the country and love so dearly.  We didn’t think the story should end there so we started getting some of those emptied barrels and tinkering in the woodshop. 

 

Today, we’re happy to announce some of these hardworking staves have been reunited with their golden bounty.  They proudly stand guard in front of countless bottles of highly sought after whiskey and bourbon across this great country.  LRW is excited to make sure the story doesn’t end when the barrel gets emptied and that every bourbon and whiskey lover out there gets to proudly display their wonderful collections.
